A small, local, family business. Who we are, why we built this, and the people your kids will spend their days with.
Why this exists
We set out to build a real life simulator: a place where kids learn about themselves, about others, and about how to put technology to work. Along the way, we learned something. Beyond the workshops and the projects, a lot of kids need help with the basics first: reading, writing, fine motor skills, math, relationships, critical thinking, staying on task. That, more than anything, is what we are really about.
We opened in 2022 to answer that, and we've been running full days ever since, shaped by parents the whole way: multi-week team projects, personal goal tracking, the word of the day, group tutoring, and the daily receipts that come home at checkout all started as parent requests. What we've learned matters most: a dependable daily structure, projects with real finishes, a mixed-age room, and a small core team who know every member well.
Since opening: 700+ young people served, 68,000+ hours of hands-on learning, 2,700+ workshops and project sessions, 18,000+ member visits, and 120+ members today.
The team
Philippe: Founder
Engineer, educator, entrepreneur. Builds the programs, the platform, and the daily structure. Still on the floor most weeks, because the floor is where the design decisions get tested.
Chelsea: Center Director & Lead Educator, Winter Park
Biologist, artist, and cosplayer who loves helping shy kids discover confidence through making. The foam, the sewing machines, and the Glowforge get no rest during the Makers term.
Jordan: Lead Educator, Altamonte Springs
Known for patient coaching and helping teams solve disagreements. Puzzles, math, and psychology are Jordan's home turf, and the improv stage is the other one: Jordan performs professionally.
They work alongside Cathy, John, Trisha, Andy, and the rest of the team across both centers.
What we believe
Kids grow through real work, real relationships, and time. Grades and rankings mostly get in the way, so we track evidence of what members actually do instead. Structure creates freedom rather than limiting it. And no environment fits every child, so we'd rather help you figure out fit honestly than sell you.
