MTH Winter Park LLC d/b/a Meta Humans (“Meta Humans,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we protect it, and your rights with respect to it. We operate the Meta Humans website at metahumans.com, the HUBS platform at hubs.metahumans.com, the community platform at community.metahumans.com, and any related services (collectively, the “Service”).
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third party for commercial purposes. Full stop.
1. Who This Policy Applies To
This Privacy Policy applies to all visitors and users of the Service, including:
Hub Operators: independent operators who have entered into a Hub License Agreement with Meta Humans.
Guides: certified facilitators affiliated with one or more Hubs.
Members: children enrolled in a Hub. Where Members are under 13, their parent or legal guardian’s consent governs data collection and use.
Parents and Guardians: adults who enroll a child in a Hub or access the member portal on a child’s behalf.
General visitors: anyone visiting our public-facing website.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
We collect information you provide directly when you create an account, enroll a member, complete a form, or communicate with us. This may include:
Account information: name, email address, username, password, and role (operator, guide, parent, member).
Operator information: business name, address, contact information, billing information.
Member information: child’s name, date of birth, school, age range, emergency contacts, medical information (allergies, medications, conditions relevant to program participation), and authorized pick-up contacts. This information is provided by parents or guardians during enrollment.
Payment information: billing address and payment method details. Payment card data is processed by third-party payment processors (Stripe, Square, Gymdesk) and is not stored on our servers.
Communications: messages you send to us via email or through the Service.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
When you use the Service, we automatically collect certain technical information, including:
Log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and the date and time of your visit.
Device information: device type, operating system, and browser version.
Usage data: features used, actions taken within the platform (session logs, XP entries, check-ins), and time spent on the Service.
Cookies and similar technologies: we use cookies and similar tracking technologies to operate the Service, maintain session state, and understand how the Service is used. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. Some features of the Service may not function properly without cookies.
2.3 Information from Third Parties
We may receive information from third parties in limited circumstances, including:
Background check providers (Checkr and equivalent international services) who return screening results for operators and guides.
Payment processors who confirm successful or failed transactions.
Integration partners (such as Gymdesk) who sync membership and attendance data with the HUBS platform where Hub Operators have enabled such integrations.
3. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
Operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
Create and manage accounts for operators, guides, parents, and members.
Process payments and manage billing.
Track guide certification status, background check status, and continuing education requirements.
Generate member activity records, XP logs, receipts, and parent-facing learning documentation.
Send operational communications: account confirmations, billing notices, certification renewal reminders, platform updates, and notices required under the Hub License Agreement.
Respond to inquiries and provide support.
Monitor and enforce compliance with our Terms of Service and Hub License Agreements.
Conduct aggregate, anonymized analysis of platform usage to understand how the Service is used and to improve it. This analysis does not identify individual users.
Comply with legal obligations.
We do not use personal information for behavioral advertising or sell it to data brokers or advertising networks.
4. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)
The Meta Humans member portal serves children, including children under the age of 13. We take children’s privacy seriously and comply with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).
We collect information about children under 13 only from their parent or legal guardian, through the enrollment process managed by Hub Operators. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the public-facing website.
Information collected about children is used solely to operate the member portal, generate activity records and learning documentation, and support the educational program the child is enrolled in. We do not use children’s personal information for advertising, behavioral tracking, or any purpose unrelated to the educational service.
Parents and guardians may at any time:
Review the personal information we have collected about their child by contacting us at hi@metahumans.com.
Request that we delete personal information we have collected about their child.
Refuse to permit further collection or use of their child’s information by withdrawing from the Service.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hi@metahumans.com with the subject line “COPPA Request.” We will respond within 30 days.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
Hub Operators: Parents and guardians should be aware that information about their child’s enrollment, attendance, activity, and progress is shared with the Hub Operator running the hub the child attends. Hub Operators are independent businesses responsible for the educational program and are bound by their Hub License Agreement with Meta Humans to handle member data appropriately.
Service providers: We share information with third-party service providers who assist us in operating the Service, including payment processors (Stripe, Square), background check providers (Checkr), video hosting (Vimeo), and cloud infrastructure providers. These providers are contractually obligated to use information only to perform services for us and to protect it appropriately.
Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by law, court order, or governmental authority, or if we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of Meta Humans, our users, or the public.
Business transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of all or a portion of our assets, personal information may be transferred to the acquiring entity. We will notify affected users by email and by posting a notice on the Service prior to any such transfer and will provide choices as required by applicable law.
6. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to operate the Service and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
When a Hub is closed or a Hub Operator’s license is terminated, member data associated with that Hub is retained for a minimum of two years from the date of closure. During the first 180 days after Hub closure, members and their parents or guardians may continue to access the member portal to review and export their activity history. After 180 days, member portal access is suspended. Data is retained internally for a minimum of three years before deletion.
Guide and operator certification records are retained for the duration of the certification and for a minimum of five years following expiration or revocation to support audit and compliance purposes.
You may request deletion of your personal information at any time by contacting us at hi@metahumans.com. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to any legal obligations that require us to retain certain information.
7. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (HTTPS), access controls limiting data access to personnel who need it to perform their functions, and regular review of our security practices.
No method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. If you believe your account or information has been compromised, contact us immediately at hi@metahumans.com.
In the event of a data breach that affects your personal information, we will notify affected users as required by applicable law.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you are located, you may have certain rights with respect to your personal information:
Access and correction: You may access and update your account information at any time through your account settings. If you need assistance, contact us at hi@metahumans.com.
Deletion: You may request deletion of your personal information by contacting us at hi@metahumans.com. Note that deletion of your account will terminate your access to the Service. Certain information may be retained as required by law or for legitimate business purposes described in this Policy.
California residents: Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected about them, to request deletion of their personal information, and to opt out of the sale of their personal information. International users: If you are located outside the United States, your personal information will be transferred to and processed in the United States. By using the Service, you consent to this transfer. We apply the same data protection standards described in this Policy regardless of where data is processed.
Marketing communications: We do not send marketing emails to members, parents, or guides without their consent. Operators may receive occasional emails about platform updates and new features as part of the Service. To opt out of non-essential communications, contact us at hi@metahumans.com.
9. Cookies
We use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Service. Cookies are small text files stored on your device that allow us to recognize your browser, maintain your session, and understand how the Service is used.
Essential cookies are required for the Service to function and cannot be disabled. Non-essential cookies (such as analytics cookies) help us understand how the Service is used so we can improve it. You may disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies will impair your ability to use the Service.
We do not use cookies to serve behavioral advertising.
